Meet Us

Tired of Reaching Out and Feeling Unheard? Find a Therapist Who Truly Gets You.

At Uptown Counseling, our Dallas–Fort Worth team helps adults and couples find the right therapeutic fit with experienced, trauma-informed therapists and a supportive, responsive intake process.

We’ll help you explore next steps and find the right match.

Why Choosing the Right Therapist Is So Hard

Reaching out for therapy takes courage. Too often, people only realize after opening up that a therapist may not fully understand their experiences, communicate clearly, or have the clinical background they were hoping for. When that happens, it can feel exhausting or even discouraging enough to stop trying.

Therapy works best when you feel genuinely understood. That’s why we don’t treat it as something you figure out on your own. We see it as the foundation of effective, ethical care.

Uptown Counseling was built around a simple belief: you deserve therapy that honors who you are and what you’ve lived through. Our mission is to offer thoughtful, clinically grounded care in an environment where you don’t have to overexplain yourself or wonder if you’re being taken seriously.

From your first interaction with our office, we aim to make the process feel clear, responsive, and human. The logistics of care scheduling, communication, and support matter just as much as what happens in session.

You don’t have to keep putting this off. When therapy support is delayed or mismatched, people often end up carrying the same stress and pain longer than they need to.

You Don’t Have to Figure This Out Alone.
We’ll answer your questions and help you explore fit before you commit to anything.

A Team-Based Approach to Care

Finding the right therapist shouldn’t come down to luck or trial and error.

Multiple Therapists, Shared Standards

Our practice is made up of licensed, experienced therapists who share a commitment to trauma-informed, relationally attuned care. We work as a team so you’re not limited to a single option and so support continues even as your needs change.

Diverse Specialties, One Supportive Practice

Our therapists work with adults and couples and bring experience in approaches such as EFT, IFS, and trauma-informed therapy. We also offer both in-office and telehealth sessions, giving you flexibility while maintaining continuity of care.

If something doesn’t feel like the right fit, we help you explore other options within the practice thoughtfully and respectfully—without pressure or judgment. Your care should adapt to you, not the other way around

What You Can Expect From Our Therapists

When you work with an Uptown Counseling therapist, you can expect care that is:

  • Clinically grounded and thoughtfully paced
  • Warm, respectful, and affirming of identity and lived experience
  • Collaborative rather than one-size-fits-all
  • Clear in communication and expectations

Our therapists are here to listen fully, respond honestly, and support meaningful change at a pace that feels safe for you.

How do I know which therapist is right for me?

Choosing a therapist is a personal and relational decision. Our team can help you think through your goals, preferences, and concerns so you’re not navigating that choice on your own.

What if I don’t feel a connection after the first session?

That can happen, and it doesn’t mean therapy won’t work for you. We see fit as part of the process and support thoughtful changes when needed.

Do you offer trauma-informed therapy?

Can I switch therapists if needed?

Absolutely. We want you to feel supported and empowered—not stuck.
