My experience with individuals in therapy has taught me that people harbor amazing talents and strengths that have helped them to get through all of life’s unexpected and sometimes painful twists and turns.
Topics discussed with individuals in therapy are aimed towards creating a clear and detailed picture of their life without the problems that brought them into my office. Once that picture is obtained, the individual and I begin to create a map with clear steps towards that future.
We start by identifying the strengths and talents that have worked for them in the past, and move onto determining the next small steps on their journey toward that future of their dreams.
Individuals find that this kind of conversation helps to create practical, positive steps to take every day, and that soon they are looking back and realizing that they’ve come a long way on that map and are heading directly towards their ultimate goals.
